My Car Was Towed By Silverback! Now What?

Since you have found out that your car has been towed by Silverback please follow the instructions below on the type of tow that happen with your car:


We DON’T Release over the PHONE. All paperwork and Ownership must be done at the TOW OFFICE.



My car was impounded by Police:

  • Call the Police department that had your car impounded and ask if there are any holds on your car.
  • If your car was impounded in York County by Pa STATE Police, Call 717-428-1011
  • If your car was impounded in Lancaster city, call 717-735-3303 for the City of Lancaster police. If your car was impounded outside of the city, call 717-664-1180 to reach that police department.
  • Make Contact with Silverback - 717-455-9772.
  • Let Silverback know which car is yours. Please be aware we don't have your name, so please tell us the Plate Number and/or the VIN Number.
  • After making contact with Silverback, please SETUP AN APPOINTMENT for our Tow office to pick up your car between 9:00am to 3:45 pm (unless appointment is set up - Monday to Friday. Why do I need an appointment at a towing company?
  • All impound charges are to be paid with cash, money order or cashier check. Credit cards may be able to be used if it gets approved by management first.

My car was towed from a parking lot
that it should not have been in:

  • Check the sign in the parking lot that your car was parked in to make sure that Silverback was the towing company that towed your car.
  • If no sign is in the parking lot, call the Police at 717-735-3303 for the City of Lancaster. If the lot was outside of the city, call the police at 717-664-1180.
  • Make Contact with Silverback - 717-455-9772.
  • Let Silverback know which car is yours. Please be aware we don't have your name, so please tell us the Plate Number and/or the VIN Number.
  • After making contact with Silverback, please SETUP AN APPOINTMENT for our Tow office to pick up your car between 9:00am to 3:45 pm (unless appointment is set up - Monday to Friday. Why do I need an appointment at a towing company?

  • Once all charges are paid and your car is released, you must leave Silverback's lot within 10 minutes after the car was released.

My car was in a crash and the Police had it towed:

  • Contact the Police Department that handled your crash. They will let you know which company towed your car.
  • If your car was in a crash in Lancaster city, call 717-735-3303 for the Lancaster City Police. If your car was involved in a crash outside of the City of Lancaster, call 717-664-1180 to reach that police department.
  • If the crash was in York county, call 717-428-1011.
  • Contact your insurance company and let them know that your car is at Silverback
  • Make Contact with Silverback - 717-455-9772.
  • Let Silverback know which car is yours. Please be aware we don't have your name, so please tell us the Plate Number and/or the VIN Number.
  • After making contact with Silverback, please SETUP AN APPOINTMENT for our Tow office to pick up your car between 9:00am to 3:45 pm (unless appointment is set up - Monday to Friday.
  • We must hear from your insurance company ASAP, please tell them to call us about your car!

For all types of tows,
we need you to bring this to our office:

  • Form of ID
  • Vehicle Owner
  • POA if not the owner of AUTO
  • Proof of ownership of the auto that is in question
  • If needed, a Release Authorization from Police Department
  • Payment
